Atrea comes with a new generation of Duplex Pro and Pro-V units
Duplex units received a new aM/aMotion regulation at the beginning of the year, which replaced the aging RD5 regulation (we wrote about it HERE ). Now it comes straight with a whole new construction.
You are certainly interested in what will change on the popular Duplex units. I will try to explain this to you, at least briefly, in this article.
Since the aMotion regulation was released relatively recently, it remains the same. The main change is of course the design of the unit. It has undergone a relatively significant change in dimensions, the distribution of the necks and the way filters are changed .
First, let's take a look at the wall-mounted version of the Duplex Pro-V compared to the existing ECV5 .
Comparison table with replacements DUPLEX ECV5 and DUPLEX PRO-V
Comparison table with substitutes DUPLEX EC5 and DUPLEX PRO
Old series | New line |
Duplex 170 EC5.CP | Duplex 150 PRO.CP |
Duplex 170 EC5.aM (formerly RD5) | Duplex 150 PRO.aM |
Duplex 170 EC5.aM.CF (formerly RD5.CF) | Duplex 150 PRO.aM.CF |
Duplex 370 EC5.CP | Duplex 350 PRO.CP |
Duplex 370 EC5.aM (formerly RD5) | Duplex 350 PRO.aM |
Duplex 370 EC5.aM.CF (formerly RD5.CF) | Duplex 350 PRO.aM.CF |
Duplex 570 EC5.CP | Duplex 550 PRO.aM.CP |
Duplex 570 EC5.aM (formerly RD5) | Duplex 550 PRO.aM |
Duplex 570 EC5.aM.CF (formerly RD5.CF) | Duplex 550 PRO.aM.CF |
It is important to take this change into account, especially if you are already counting on the Duplex ECV5 unit, but the implementation will take place in the new year. Different dimensions and different distribution of the sockets could cause the unit not to fit in your technical room or to be unable to connect to the distribution system. Another small, but certainly welcome change for users, is access to the filters without having to open the entire lid of the unit.
Finally, we will look at the under-ceiling variant Duplex Pro compared to the existing EC5 .
In this case, the units have lost some weight , so they fit better in the ceiling , but they have gained some length . An interesting change is the optional sockets from the side , which will facilitate the routing of distributions for many installations and allow for more installation options. As with the wall-mounted version, there is a separate door for changing filters . The negative is that the possibility of installing integrated after-heating has disappeared (not to be confused with pre-heating, it remains).
If you are planning a Duplex ECV5 or EC5 unit in the future, inquire about its future availability or discuss with a technician the possibility of exchanging it for a new generation Pro.
